WELLINGTON SCHOOL
"Be still and know"
Wellington School enjoys a magnificent seafront location within a quiet residential part of Ayr.
Founded in 1836 by the wife of an Ayr schoolmaster, the school was named after the elegant square in which it stood. In 1923 the school moved to Carleton Turrets, this being established as the main site of the school.
During the past decade the school has undergone a series of major changes including the cessation of boarding, a change to co-educational and the purchase and development of new buildings and sporting facilities.
The school aims to create a caring, ordered environment where the potential of individual pupils can be fully developed. It upholds traditional values and standards whilst looking to the future and embracing new educational developments.
