ST COLUMBA'S SCHOOL
"Pray, Work and Study Literature"
St Columba's School is situated in rural Kilmacolm, nestling in the Renfrewshire hills yet not far from Glasgow. The school was founded in 1897, initially for girls. It has been co-educational since 1982 with equal numbers of girls and boys. The Junior School is situated a quarter of a mile from the Senior School and has a roll of just under 380, while the Senior School has a roll of just over 340.
In recent years there has been a significant investment in new facilities including the opening of a new Junior School building in 2001 which is well equipped with modern facilities. Academic results are excellent with the school regularly producing results in the very top bracket nationally. This success reflects the quality of the partnership between the school, parents and pupils.
Music, sport and a wide range of extra-curricular activities are all part of School life. A distinguishing feature of St. Columba ’s is the warm and welcoming atmosphere where the staff know all the Schools pupils by name. |
