LOMOND SCHOOL
"Let us look forward"
Lomond School is positioned in the elegant suburbs of Helensburgh, a town of 17,000 people on the edge of the world famous Lomond National Park. The school's roots reach back to 1845, but present day Lomond School was formed in 1977 when St Bride's Girls' School merged with nearby Larchfield Boys' Preparatory School.
In 1997 a serious fire destroyed the main St Bride's building and in 1998 a new building was opened on the site, providing modern facilities for the 21st Century. What underpins Lomond School's approach is the encouragement for each pupil to be all that they can be.
Overall results in the school are excellent, we are normally ranked in the top ten schools in Scotland, however, of far more importance is ensuring that each individual achieves what they are capable of. |
