Founded in 1641 by brothers George and Thomas Hutcheson, the present-day school in Pollokshields is the result of an amalgamation in 1976 between the Girls’ and Boys’ Grammar Schools. An ambitious building programme in the last 15 years has established “Hutchie”, as it is known, at the forefront of Scottish education in the 21st century.

By creating an environment conducive to learning and personal growth, Hutchesons’ encourages pupils to discover their individual talents and strengths, and prepares them fully for the challenges of life. Full bursary places are available by competitive entry.
