THE HIGH SCHOOL OF GLASGOW
"Ever Higher"
The High School of Glasgow, which was founded as the Grammar School of Glasgow in the 12th Century and closely associated with Glasgow Cathedral, became an independent school in 1976 when education in Glasgow was reorganised.
The aim of the school is to create a happy, caring and ordered community in which each individual
can achieve his or her full potential both academically and socially. Pupils are encouraged to
develop a sense of responsibility and to pursue excellence in all their activities.
The School has a
Christian background and seeks to foster traditional standards and values and a concern for others.
It has developed a character in which pupils of any religious persuasion and none benefit from the atmosphere of mutual tolerance and respect.
